Frederick Douglass Community
Development Corporation

The Frederick Douglass Community Development Corporation (FDCDC), an independent, not-for-profit, 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) entity, was created to advocate for and facilitate community economic development through the provision of critically needed services. Our mission is to spearhead efforts to build affordable and safe housing, stimulate investment in community business enterprises to generate employment in the community and work to expand opportunities for Cultural Education in Rochester, New York.
Development success is highlighted by the building of 23 new and affordable single family homes and two multi-unit independent Senior living complexes that offer an array of on-site life enrichment activities and support systems. Named Frederick Douglass Village, residents have been integrated back into the community once known as a model of African American Culture throughout Rochester and the Metropolitan Monroe County area.
